In Delta State,Ibusa community near Asaba,two suspected cow thieves were set ablaze by some angry youths on Tuesday.
The two men who were identified as Chuks Ibeh and Samson Agoro were arrested by vigilante group from Asaba in the bush while trying to transport the cows away in a pick-up van with registration number AA 165 XL.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were always visiting Ibusa community bush, especially the areas where the herdsmen gather their cattle for feeding. The men who claimed to be from Onitsha said they were introduced into stealing by their peers.
After they were arrested, angry youths surrounded the men, beat them up before pouring kerosene on them and set them ablaze.Nnamdi Chikwendu,Chairman of the vigilante group, who confirmed the incident used the opportunity to urge residents of Ibusa, Asaba and other nearby communities to support the group to enable it achieve its goal of keeping the communities free of criminals.
