Nigerian Army arrests Boko Haram arms suppliers in Nsukka

    Three people believed to be suppliers of arms for the dreaded Islamist militant group, Boko Haram,have been arrested by the Nigerian Army in Nsukka,Enugu state
    According to reports, the suspects include a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, and a corporal, Abu Haruna, Solomon, arrested for illegal trafficking of arms and ammunition. The suspects were captured in Nsukka by men of the Nigerian Army while they were travelling in a bus heading to the North from Imo State. Some of the arms and ammunitions recovered from them include 40 AK47 magazines, 4 boxes of AK47 live ammunition, 100 pieces of live cartridges, one piece of Denin Mopol khaki and charms concealed in a cap.
    They confessed their involvement in supplying of arms to insurgents in the Northern Nigeria. Abu Haruna,the retired DSP,confessed that he had been in the business of arms dealing since he retired from the police.He said their mission was to supply the ammunition to thier buyer in Taraba state. The suspects were later taken to Nsukka Police Division before their transfer to the state CID.
